The Development Of Research On Braudel's Historiography By Scholars In Mainland China

Fernand Braudel was a famous French historian in the 20th century,the second-generation academic leader of the Annales School,and an internationally renowned contemporary historian.Since the new era of reform and opening up,Braudel's academic achievements and historical thoughts have received continuous attention from the academic circles in Chinese mainland,but the systematic summary of these studies is still lacking.Based on the collection,collation,statistics and analysis of the relevant research achievem ents of Chinese mainland scholars on Braudel's historiography from the 1970s and the 1980s to now,this paper reviews the research and development process of Braudel's historiography in China's mainland in the past 50 years by stagesThis paper is divided into five parts:The "Introduction" part demonstrates the basis of topic selection,reviews the general situation of topic research,describes the writing ideas of the paper,and indicates the main research methods and innovations.The first chapter is "the life experience of Braudel and his main works".This chapter briefly introduces Braudel's personal life,reveals the relationship between his life experience and his academic thoughts,focuses on Braudel's two great works The Mediterranean and Material Civilization,and briefly expounds the essence of Braudel's historical thoughts,so as to provide a background for the rest of the paper.The second chapter is "the first phase(1978-1997)of the Chinese scholars' study of Braudel's historiography".This chapter begins with the first acquaintance of Braudel by scholars in China's mainland,and describes the preliminary research on Braudel's historiography by domestic scholars,sorting out the research hotspots in this period and briefly analyzing the causes.The third chapter is "the second stage(1998-2007)of Chinese scholars' research on Braudel's historiography".This period was the upsurge of the domestic academic research on Braudel's historiography.In addition to combing the research situation of Braudel's historiography in China's mainland during this period,this chapter also tries to make a comparative analysis with the research situation of the previous period.The fourth chapter is the third stage(2008-2021)of Braudel's historiography studies by scholars in China's mainland.This chapter focuses on the latest progress of the mainland Chinese scholars on Braudel's historiography,and focuses on the specific application of the mainland Chinese scholars to Braudel's historiography theory,economic theory,civilization history view and other theoretical and practical achievements.In short,this paper takes the perspective of vertical evolution to grasp the achievements and development of Braudel's historical research in the different historical periods and different historical backgrounds,and summarizes the research hotspots,and discusses the reasons for the formation.It tries to outline the overall thread of Chinese mainland historians'research on Braudel's historiography from the perspective of historiography,and summarizes the achievements and points out the existing problems.
