Symbolic Form And Meaning Expression In Ding Yi's "Cross Representation 2020" Series

The artist Ding Yi's "Appearance of Crosses" series of works have gone through the process of continuous development.Critics have discussed the symbolic elements in different periods of the "Appearance of Crosses" series.Wang Min 'an believes that there is a delayed relationship between Ding Yi's works,which comes from the repetition of symbols.Ding Yi gives "repetition" a new positive meaning by making differences through repetition.Gao Minglu extracted a methodology to localize abstract art from Ding Yi's repetition principle.Feng Boyi,through Ding Yi's "+" symbol,read out the artist's intellectual quality of pulling the personal reality away from the marginal and tangled when facing the conflict between personal existence and the real situation.Curator Lu Yinghua interprets Ding Yi's works in a historical context of "85 New Trend".The difference of this paper lies in the analysis of the breakthrough in the meaning of the artist's new works from the perspective of the symbol form,with the symbol of "+" as the clue,combined with the Zen thought from the shallow to the deep.At the same time,combining the case analysis of artists and related theories,this paper studies the decontamination of the meaning in art works and the intersection of religion,art and life from the perspective of semiotics.Finally,combined with the creation of practice to elaborate on my inspiration.In the first part of this paper,I will analyze the breakthrough of the symbol form of "+" and the resolution of the symbol symbolism by the retention of the handmade traces in the new works of "Appearance of Crosses 2020" series.The second part will analyze how artists use the delayed relationship between symbols to change the form of symbols and reconstruct a new order,as well as the dual deconstruction of the meaning of works by the construction and destruction of this sense of order.The third part will combine the development of the "Ten Signs"series of works and the basic principles of semiotics to analyze how the meaning of art works is changed by the subjective intention of the artist,and how to resolve the"meaningless" expression of the works.The fourth part analyzes the relationship between religion,art and life through the relationship between the artist's repetitive creative techniques and Zen.The fifth part expounds the author's understanding of"artistic cultivation" and repetitive symbols in contemporary painting with the combination of my "Impermanence" series of works.
