Shrew is a one act drama written in 1922 by Ouyang Yuqian,a modern dramatist in China.Chen Shenzhi's role reflects the social phenomenon that men are not specialized in love. However,Chen Shenzhi is not only unfaithful, but also dishonest, deceiving his wife by rhetoric. How to grasp the speech action in the process of shaping this character is worth discussing. As far as the character's experience is concerned,Chen Shenzhi once studied abroad, was open-minded,and was willing to accept new things. However, with the change of time and status,he was no longer a new youth pursuing personality liberation, but was manipulated by the feudal ideology in his bones, and became a hypocrite betraying the spirit of the May 4th movement. In order to create such a dramatic character who speaks new words and adheres to old ideas,it is necessary to have accurate control over the speech actions of the characters,so that the audience can be involved in the plot. Therefore,in the process of creation,we must pay attention to the excavation and performance of subtext, and vividly show the character on the stage through a series of lines skills.
