Box,as a miniature device or large-scale device that can use different materials and elements,can be used to make works with any spatial form and construction method.This material and spiritual freedom have attracted many artists to use boxes as a carrier to talk to the public.When the box works come together with all the genres,they have the same development characteristics.The inner world of box art and the outer space of boxes are given various meanings.From the success of many outstanding artists in box art,we can see that the use of boxes as art forms can be collectively identified.The opening,closing,hiding,and disguising of the box enticed the audience to explore its secrets.The infinite space of simple materials and basic graphic combinations makes the observer fall into fantasy.The specific context of the "box" can give new meaning to ordinary materials.It is worth considering the extent to which context affects the object,and to what extent does it invade creation itself?"Box" is a non-genre art form,an experiment of art on space and vision.If we continue to study,it may be a new way to explore the exhibition of space when we follow the standardized construction system of museum space and meaning.This article discusses in four parts.First,from the timeline,it outlines the self-development of the box art and the external environment that contributed to its creation.Second,it uses the two forms of internal display and external display to make the box art work.Classified and listed three contemporary artists in each category;third,the significance of the new era of box art;fourth,based on the author's own creative experience,talk about the "inside" and "outside" of the work "Prisoners Cage".
