Mural painting is a special kind of painting in Chinese traditional painting,and its artistic value and cultural value are extremely high.Therefore,it needs to be actively protected and rigorously repaired.Due to the influence of specific cultural traditions,this concept has also been extended to the practice of restoration and protection.At present,the existing murals in China are mainly temple murals,grotto murals and tomb murals.These three types of murals have their own characteristics and differences in the production process.After a long period of time,due to the influence of geographical,environmental and human factors,the problems that occur in the murals also have similarities and differences,so they are repairing.There needs to be a very complete set of systems for protection.At present,the country's mural protection workers have also explored a relatively complete set of scientific methods and procedures suitable for the protection of ancient murals in the country.At the same time,the protection technology has gradually matured,which has led to the development of mural restoration technology,gradually becoming more refined and standardized.The direction deepens.The most important problems in the ancient murals that urgently need to be protected and repaired are shedding,armouring,fading,as well as salinization due to geological soil and sand,defects and breakages.Different types of murals will also take different restoration measures.Most of the murals in the tomb may not be able to be used as a display site.They will be restored and transferred to the museum for display.This in turn adds a lot of difficulties to the repair.Part of the grotto murals will be restored at the original location and will not be transferred,but will be relatively copied(current copying,restorative copying,etc.),and the rest will be first uncovered and then restored,and then displayed in the art gallery.The temple murals are basically left at the original site for restoration and protection.The restoration materials and techniques in different periods will change over time.At present,some restored murals have even accelerated the disease on the basis of the original murals.In this context,this article will start from practice,combine its own practice of mural restoration and copy the current situation to explore the system of mural restoration.Combining the murals in the tomb of Longsheng Primary School and the restoration and copying practice of Dunhuang Cave 220,the experience and thinking in the process,the recording and summary analysis from multiple angles,provide the basis and data records for the mural protection and restoration system.
