Trying To Analysis The Significance Of Zhang Daqian Copying Dunhuang Mural

Dunhuang grottoes gather the essence of Chinese traditional painting art, representing the wisdom of ancient people, but in history, it was plagued by robbing and natural environment erosion, until Zhang Daqian copied dunhuang murals, and show it in front of people, people knew its preciousness. During my internship at the museum, I help collect information about Zhang Daqian copy exhibition, and see the previous results on this subject at the same time, I recognize the predecessors’ research is a single point of study, no comprehensive understanding, so I’m preparing to write an article on the comprehensive research to represent the important significance about copying paintings. This article is divided into six parts to discuss, the first part is introduction. Preface introduces the purpose and significance about this problem, the author hope to get more comprehensive exploration on the copy, then the author analyses the results of other researchers, and describes the research content and method of this paper, trying to analyze time significance and important influence of Zhang Daqian copying dunhuang murals on Chinese art and the protection of cultural relics. The second part analyses the historical events about Zhang Daqian copying dunhuang murals, it discusses the motivation of copying paintings and difficult course, and explore the method of Zhang Daqian copying dunhuang murals. Dunhuang frescoes’extraordinary accomplishments attracted Zhang Daqian, and he is very hard, after travelling long distances, he arrived in dunhuang twice to explore painting technique. The third part analysis the controversy of copying dunhuang mural on the conservation, copying frescoes has a significant impact on the whole.The fourth part analysis dunhuang copy exhibition in Chengdu,under the background of Anti-Japanese War at the time, it inspires people’s national spirit, inspire the national spirit, and the national confidence. The fifth part discusses that imitations of dunhuang murals show the profound influence for the Chinese fine arts. It not only changes Zhang Daqian’s personal painting style, also has impact on painting style and study style of many later painters, it has a significant influence on Duan Wenjie especially, and it prompts Duan Wenjie to take root in dunhuang, and he makes outstanding contributions to protection of dunhuang. At that time dunhuang murals inspired the new style of Chinese painting, it combined traditional painting techniques and western painting techniques properly. The sixth part tells that Zhang Daqian copying painting is of great significance to dunhuang relic’s protection. After the exhibition, when people enjoy the excellent art paintings, they sigh the fate of the dunhuang grottoes, our country set up special organizations to protect the dunhuang murals. After established the national institute of dunhuang, it is growing stronger. In later decades, it ended the unattended condition, under the leadership of Chang Shuhong, Duan Wenjie, and Fan Jinshi, grottoes protection work has achieved very good results, under the cooperation of home and abroad, grottoes protection work towards a new course. The seventh part is conclusion. At this point, copying paintings has been greatly beyond the significance, its artistic status and influence has been greatly improved, it emphasizes that Zhang Daqian copying murals is of great significance to the Chinese fine arts and cultural relics protection.
