The Tragic Style And Singing Analysis Of Schubert's Vocal Suite "Winter Journey"

Franz Schubert(1797-1828)was a famous German and Austrian composer and a representative of the early romantic music,playing an important role in the history of Western music.Schubert’s musical works are numerous and varied,including art songs,symphonies,chamber music,piano music and opera.Among Schubert’s musical works,there are more than 600 art songs.He is known as the "King of art songs".He made great contributions to the development of German and Austrian art songs in the 19 th century.The vocal track "Winter Journey"(D.911)was composed by Schubert in 1827,which is a representative work of Schubert’s tragic style.He regarded it as an autobiography of his tragic life.Through the analysis of Schubert’s life background,life experience and his own personality,this paper leads to the exploration and research of the tragic style of the vocal cycle of Winter Journey.The first chapter summarizes the basis and significance of Schubert’s life experience,which is the topic of this paper.It also analyzes the current academic research status of Winter Journey at home and abroad and expounds the research characteristics of this paper.The second chapter seeks the origin of the tragic style of Winter Journey through schubert’s birth background,growth experience and personality.The third chapter interprets the tragedy in the music creation of Winter Journey from the poetic and emotional nature of the music creation in the sound cycle,the combination of piano accompaniment and lyrics,as well as the melody direction,tonal harmony,and schubert’s tragic creation reflected in the romantic music.The fourth chapter analyzes the poetry rhythm,German pronunciation,intonation,timbre,intensity,rhythm and emotion in the performance of Winter Journey.This paper summarizes Schubert’s tragic creation technique of vocal music cycle "Winter Journey",analyzes schubert’s tragic creation style and its influence on romantic music and later music creation,as well as how to express the tragic beauty of "Winter Journey" through singing.
