Among the various musical notations from ancient China,which has a long history,there is a type of musical notation written by graphic and tortuous lines and called “Curve Notation” by the academic world.Within the background of writing habits by square words in China,most musical notations are related with the shape of words,but the “Curve Notation” is a unique existence,which is only noted by curve lines to record the musical expression and has developed across many dynasties.Therefore,the “Curve Notation” has a high research value.This research is divided into three parts: firstly,taking the historical period as the axis,seven types of the “Curve Notation” from Han dynasty to Qing dynasty are primarily explored in the fields of structure,function and the culture behind this notation system;then,based on the part 1,a “time and space”cross-comparison of the “Curve Notation” from every dynasty in the form,structure,notation method,and music culture is showed in this part to analyze the development and change of the "Curve Notation" in the long history;finally,according to the record methods presented in the early form of "Curve Notation" and the earliest historical text records,the headstream and development history of the “Curve Notation” are explored to have a glimpse into the characteristics,formation and development,and the culture of it in the history of China.
