The works of picture books are both literary and artistic,and are more and more favored by readers.Hailed as a visionary illustrator,Chen Zhiyong’s picture books have been widely translated and published around the world through dreamlike surreal images combined with social and historical themes.He is a great contributor to the world of picture books.He introduced the surrealistic aesthetic idea and the creation technique into each link of the picture book creation and carried on the innovation use,causes its picture book style to have the creativity and the exploration.This paper systematically studies the causes and development of the surrealistic style in Chen Zhiyong’s works.The author tries to find out the artistic effect of Chen Zhiyong’s surrealistic technique after he introduced it into the picture book,which can be used for reference and inspiration.
