A Preliminary Study Of Qingdao Labor Education During The Nanjing Nationalist Government (1927-1937)

Qingdao was one of the five labor education pilot areas in the Republic of China.Labor education played a huge role in the formation of Qingdao's modern city.Therefore,studying Qingdao's modern times labor education has certain practical significance and academic value.Modern times Qingdao labor education forms mainly include: Factory Workers Tutorial School,Commercial tuition school attached to Qingdao Chamber of Commerce and Early childhood education for children of employees,etc.The education targets include local people,land-lost peasants who flooded into cities,women and child laborers who are popular with factory owners because their salaries are lower than adult male workers,as well as a large number of disaster victims who fled due to war and invited people and south mature mechanic.At the same time,modern labor education in Qingdao also has problems such as the lack of the main body of the municipal administrative organs,the difficulty in enrolling and retaining students,and the uneven quality of teachers.However,labor education,as a new education model promoted by the National Government,has made certain contributions in breaking the dominance of the Qingdao market by Japanese enterprises and providing impetus for the development of national enterprises in Qingdao with the vigorous development of the people's patriotism and industrial awareness of saving the country.
