Thailand and China have a long-standing relation and traditional friendship.With the development of economic and trade exchanges between Thailand and China,many Thais have begun to realize the importance of the Chinese language,but Thai schools cannot fully meet the needs of students,causing non-official education or tutoring schools gradually become a very important part of Chinese education system in Thailand.The research scope is mainly aimed at Chonburi Province,which has the most tutoring schools in eastern Thailand.This research uses the literature research,questionnaire and interview methods to investigate and discuss basic situations and problems of the 4Chinese tutoring schools in this area.Survey results show most of the students in Chinese tutoring schools in Chonburi Province come from the nearest areas around schools at present.In terms of the situation of tutoring schools' teachers,even though there are not many Chinese language teachers,however,most of them are Thais.In terms of teaching mode,the main are individual teaching and small group teaching.Although a new online teaching model has emerged in Thailand's education system,but in reality Chinese tutoring classes in Chonburi are still dominated by traditional classroom teaching.In terms of Chinese textbooks used,these four tutoring schools in classroom teaching uses "Experiencing Chinese" "Have fun with Chinese" "Chinese Course" "Chinese tutorial" and textbooks prepared or edited by the tutoring school.Materials for each student are determined by student's age and Chinese proficiency level.From the perspective of students and parents,parents in this area value Chinese tutorial schools and support students in attending such classes.The purpose and learning goals of students participating in tutorial classes are relatively clear,which makes students more likely to achieve good results,and also improving their Chinese skills.However,students still face three main problems in the process of receiving classroom teaching in the tutoring school,that is,teachers,teaching,and teaching materials.These problems are the main factors that directly affect students' learning process.Therefore,this research makes suggestions based on teachers' problems,textbook problems,and teaching problems,such as changing the requirements for recruiting Chinese teachers;attaching importance to the interviews stage of recruiting teachers;modify the content of Chinese textbooks,etc.
