A Study Of Jerry Usman's Creative Style

Jerry Uelsmann is a famous American art master.He is the pioneer of the "Post-visualization",which breaks the conventional concept of photography and then shoots the barrier.He rejected digital compositing by computer,insisting on darkroom to create a series of photographs in a unique style.His photography works are different from what we take for granted.They aim at visual impact,disrupting the arrangement of things on the surface,breaking through the meaning of conventional logic,so that we are no longer confined to the surface of objects.Uelsmann liberates the imitative recording function of photography,guides the photographer to pay attention to the inner nature of the object,gives full play to the imagination of the artist,and produces photographic works that break through convention and logic,so as to arouse the resonance of the audience.This thesis starts from Jerry Uelsmann's creative techniques,and makes a deep analysis and research on Uelsmann.This paper first introduces Uelsmann's life,traces back to the formation of his photography style,and then introduces Uelsmann's "Post-visualization".Exploring the formation of Uelsmann's art works,His creation is highly subjective.The conventional meaning of objects is not an obstacle to his creation.On the contrary,he gives these objects new symbolic and aesthetic meanings,and finally presents the visual effect of "montage".Secondly,three groups of representative photographic works were selected to analyze the picture composition of Jerry Uelsmann's works and the evolution process of Uelsmann's style in different periods,so as to further explore the deep connotation of style characteristics.Finally,I think about Uelsmann's artistic creation aesthetics,and then apply it to the promotion and research of surrealist photography.Then,I introduce the creation of my graduation project.This paper combs the works of contemporary artist Jerry Uelsmann and studies his artistic aesthetics and stylistic characteristics.Subjective originality is his most prominent feature.In the history of photography in the world,Uelsmann is an unavoidable photography artist,through the study of his creation style,there is a great inspiration and research significance to the photography circle.
