Research On The Activities Of The Puppet Regime To Worship Confucius During The Anti-Japanese War

Confucianism has been the dominant ideology and culture in China for a long time since the Xi Han Dynasty.In order to declare their orthodox position and master the discourse power of ideology and culture,most ancient Chinese rulers paid great attention to the sacrifice to Confucius.This activity was not only a ceremony,but also promoted the spread of Confucianism and ruling concepts.Japan has been deeply influenced by Chinese culture,and Confucianism has left a deep imprint on Japanese spiritual civilization.During the Anti-Japanese War,Japan adopted the method of "governing China by Chinese" to prop up a number of Japanese puppet regimes,which could not be recognized by the local people and society because of their puppet nature.In order to gain a foothold,these puppet regimes generally adopted the policy of temporarily extending the inherent culture of China to avoid opposition from the people,and tried to prove its so-called "legitimacy" by "inheriting" the inherent culture.Under the instigation of Japan,the puppet regimes staged a farce of Confucius fiesta.The ceremony was complicated,and the feudal dregs were resurrected in the smoke and fire.Invaders and traitors held speeches and meetings in the name of sacrificing Confucius.They either attached their ideas to Confucianism,or directly misinterpreted its meaning.Conquering and enslaving people in spirit was their common purpose,but their specific theory sources differ.The pseudo-Manchukuo emphasized the "king of paradise","great harmony".Puppet regimes in central China and north China region always chattered about "xinmin doctrine".Wang ching-wei pseudo national government used the position of Sun Yat-sen at the same time of sacrificing Confucius and created a pseudo three people's principles in order to contend for orthodoxy with real national government.Wang distorted Sun Yat-sen's "Great East Asianism" to cater to the socalled "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" put forward by the Japanese and declared "peace,anti-communist,founding a state".For the retroaction of the puppet regimes,the people strongly resisted,patriots satirized and criticized full of indignation.Eventually,Confucius fiesta declined in the areas under the control of the puppet regime.The distortion and abuse of Confucianism during the Anti-Japanese War also let us realize that its inclusion makes it constantly inject new vitality,its flexibility makes it famous overseas and far-reaching.Nevertheless,under special circumstances,these advantages may become loopholes to provide an opportunity for evil forces,which could cause enormous losses to Confucianism,and also could bring about a threat to Chinese nation.Therefore,we should not only inherit the essence of Confucian culture,but also promote its strengths and complement its weaknesses,so that it will develop in a healthy direction.
