Constructive media report is solution-based or containing positive emotions rather than problem-based or containing negative emotions.According to the Differential Susceptibility to Media Effects Model(DSMM),the influence of media on cognition, emotion, and behavior can be enhanced or reduced by variables of individual differences(such as personality, temperament, and level of development)and social background variables(such as peers, parents).Constructive media reporting,as an environmental variable, has an impact on helping behavior, while social responsibility,as a variable of individual difference, and peer communication,as a variable of social background, are also closely related to helping behavior. Therefore, based on DSMM,this study explores the influence of constructive media reporting on adolescents' helping behavior and its internal mechanism from two aspects of individual differences and social background through two experiments. In study 1,150 valid subjects were selected and adoption 3(media report: non constructive media report / media report with positive emotions / media coverage based on solutions)× 2(social responsibility: high / low)experimental design. The independent variables are media report and social responsibility, and the dependent variables were emotion(PANAS self-rating score)and helping behavior(the amount of money donated). The purpose of the experiment was to explore the influence of constructive media report on the emotions and helping behavior of adolescents with different social responsibility. The results show that constructive media reporting can make adolescents have more positive emotions and helping behaviors.Social responsibility plays a moderating role in media-reporting and helping behavior, and adolescents with low social responsibility are significantly affected by constructive media reporting. On the basis of study 1,300 valid subjects were selected in study 2,and 3(media report: non-constructive media report / media report containing positive emotions /solution-based media report)× 2(social responsibility: high / low)× 2(peer communication / non-communication)experimental design was used, the independent variables were media reporting, social responsibility and peer communication, and the dependent variables were emotion(PANAS self-rating score)and helping behavior(the amount of money donated),so as to explore the influence of peer communication on the constructive media reporting effect of different adolescents with social responsibility. The results show that peer communication can produce more positive emotions and less negative emotions.Peer communication can enhance the influence of constructive media reporting on different social responsibility adolescents' helping behavior, and the influence of constructive media reporting on different social responsibility adolescents' helping behavior is more significant for adolescents with low social responsibility.Studies have shown that constructive media reports can reduce negative emotions and increase positive emotions and helping behavior;Constructive media reports have a greater impact on helping behavior of adolescents with low social responsibility, which verifies the hypothesis of protection attenuation.Helping behavior of adolescents with high social responsibility is more stable.Peer communication can enhance the effect of constructive media reporting on adolescents' mood and helping behavior.
