Analysis Of The Lyrics, Music And Singing Of Ao Changqun's Art Song "Jiangchengzi · Dreams On The 20th Day Of The First Month Of Yimao"

China has a large number of classical Chinese poems,most of which were then used to sing along using a tune,however,we could see the textual part of these poems due to the lost of the melody part.In recent years,some composers wrote new melodies for some of these poems which popularized the musical performance of Chinese classical poetry.In this thesis,the poem Riverside Town Dreaming of My Deceased Wife on the Night of the 20 th Day of the 1st Month,written in Song Dynasty,is discussed in detail regarding the question of by what means the poetic song could be interpreted with certain integrity and competence,through the analyzations in four aspects including background discussion,lyrical analysis,musical analysis,and performance analysis,in order to provide a more genuine and authentic expression of emotion according to the poem and melody.At the same time,this thesis as a methodology could be used as a reference in the future for those who study art songs as either pupils or enthusiasts.
