As a technique that every conducting student must master,it is a method used to interpret and express the work. The conducting method covers several conducting techniques: such as the formation of beat points, the point and line pattern of diagrams, the techniques of preparatory, the division of labour of the left and right hands, and active and passive beats, etc. In the choral rehearsal process, these conducting techniques are fully applied by the conductor to the work, presenting the composer's intention and inspiration and the acoustics of the work to the audience with silent gestures."Rainbow after the Rain" is a classic piece by Mr.Lu Zaiyi, which shows the dynamism of the reform and opening-up period, intertwined with the national charm. The combination of the main key and polyphony, whether in the imitation of the vocal parts or in the layout of the tonal harmony, contains a symphonic sound effect that is of great value for analysis and practice. This paper combines theory and practice, taking the mixed chorus "Rainbow after the Rain" composed by Mr.Lu Zaiyi as an example, analyses and designs the important and difficult points of the conducting method covered in the work, discusses how to fully and effectively apply the conducting method in the actual choral rehearsal, and how to push the acoustic colour and artistic height of the work through the conducting method to the highest level. Finally, the author will summarize the rehearsal experience and study and observe the combination, and make a brief analysis of the efficiency of the conducting method on choral rehearsal and the acoustic effect produced.
