In Helene,Euripides narrated a different story from the traditional Helen, and created a brave and pure new image of Helen, forming a confrontation between true and phantom Helen. If the three plays in which Helen appeared,The Trojan Women,Helene, and Orestes, were regarded as a whole,Helene was in the center position for the creation time, story development time and place which middle cut the Helen in the three plays into true Helen and phantom Helen. The article goes into allegations to Helen from Hecuba, the representing of the Troy royal,Electra, the representing of Greek women and Teucer, the representing of Greek soldiers, and through close to Helen's allegations, then it comes to self-justification of Helen,by comparing the true and phantom Helen's plea and paradox hidden in the true and phantom Helen to explore the intention of the poet.In Helene, the enlightenment of the foreign Egypt elevates Helen's mind and gives her knowledge of her destiny, which benefits her escape from Egypt.Helen and Menelaos fled in a foreign country, originally is to return home, but because of Helen's stratagem brought the change of identity.Through the transformation of Menelaus and Sparta's identity, the poet subtly replaced the Trojan War with a foreign country,Egypt, and reconstructed the Trojan War,which was not only a response to the tradition of Homer, but also showed his inner boredom with the war.The honor and fame so valued in traditional ethics are meaningless and useless in the new world. However, the poet broke the traditional ethics and morality in foreign country, but failed to establish a new ethical order, which made the city more ambiguous, and finally needed god to clean up the “mess”.
