Research On The Narrative Function Of Folklore Elements In Novel

In previous studies,the folklore events described in novels are usually simply understood as "the environment in which the story takes place","typical scene" or "narrative context",etc.,and then they are generally classified as one of the "characteristics of folk culture ".These are summarized,and less rational research is conducted from the perspective of narrative function research.In fact,the folklore elements in the novel do not only appear as a story environment or scene,but sometimes it acts as an important part of the narrative of the novel,linking or promoting the development of the story events,and has an important narrative function.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the functional issues of folklore elements in novels from the characteristics of narrative strategy.This paper takes the folklore elements that appear in the novel The Crystal Clear Tamir River(Tungalag Tamir)the research object,carefully reads the text,and identifies and analyzes the folklore elements that appear in the novel.The specific functions in the story events of the novel reveal how the author combines the story events of the novel with the elements of folklore to skillfully construct the core framework of the whole novel,trying to expound the characteristics of the novel's narrative strategy with the help of folklore elements.The thesis consists of an introduction,three main chapters,a conclusion,and references.The introduction explains the problem consciousness,research objects,research summary and research methods.The first chapter consists of three subsections,analyzing two types of folklore events such as "Legend of Heroes" and "Naadam" that appear in the upper and lower parts of the novel.The Kernel narrative function played throughout the narrative of the novel.The second chapter consists of three subsections,analyzing the customs of weddings,funerals,wool shearing and felt making,white wooden stick games,shaga games,stone house games,shamanic rituals,and buddhist ceremony that appear in the novel.The Satellites narrative function played by the production custom elements,entertainment custom elements,popular belief and folk custom elements in the whole novel narrative.The third chapter consists of three subsections,which analyzes the legend of Taikhar sacred stone,life tree,folk songs and other miniature folk elements in the novel,and demonstrates their metaphorical function and satellites narrative function.This paper studies the folklore elements in literary works,which are in the intersection of literature and art(narratology)and folklore,and are in line with the professional direction of the author.At the same time,in the research on in the novel The Crystal Clear Tamir River(Tungalag Tamir),there is less research from the perspective of folklore,and no research on the narrative function of folklore elements.Therefore,the research in this paper has a certain novelty and is expected to open up new related research.It provides a new interpretation experience for related research,and has certain academic value and reference significance.
