Social Work Intervention In Community Integration Of Migrant Elderly People

Under the background of urbanization and aging of population,the flow and migration of elderly population in China are becoming more and more frequent.As a special group in the floating population,the old people are facing many problems in the process of living in cities with their children.A series of social problems will arise if the problem of the old people who move with them is not solved and their needs are not effectively met.Community,as an important field of people's life,has the most profound influence on the old people.This study focuses on the relocating elderly population in S community,Guangzhou.Firstly,through the form of questionnaire survey and interview,the basic status quo of the community integration of the old people with resettlement is understood,and it is concluded that the old people with resettlement have three problems in the process of community integration,namely,poor psychological integration,difficulty in cultural adaptation,and weakening of behavioral adaptation.Then,based on the theory of social exclusion,the author analyzes that the reasons for the difficulty in integrating the elderly into the community are mainly influenced by the exclusion factors of different policies and conflicting cultures.After that,the study selected eight eligible accompanying elderly as service objects,selected group working methods according to their problems and needs in the process of community integration,developed and implemented the intervention program under the guidance of the interactive mode,and carried out six group activities.The study found that poor language communication was a key factor in preventing the integration of old people with their families into the community.This study tries to use the Cantonese learning group as the breakthrough point to intervene in the integration of the community with the elderly,and finds that it has certain effectiveness and compatibility.At the same time,this study compared the pre-and post-test data of group members' social avoidance and distress(SAD)scale,and found that group activities can effectively improve the social communication status of the accompanying elderly.Therefore,social work can play a positive role in the process of community integration of the displaced elderly.
