Research On China's Strategy For The Reform Of The WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism

As an important procedure in the running of WTO,the dispute settlement mechanism has been hailed as a "crown jewel",which is the important body mechanism for WTO to coordinate multilateral trade and solve multilateral trade disputes.However,due to the weakness of WTO dispute settlement in dealing with world economic and trade disputes in recent years,there is a growing call for reform.Based on the current situation of the WTO dispute settlement mechanism,the author analyzes the reasons why the WTO dispute settlement mechanism is in urgent need of reform from both internal and external perspectives.On the basic summery of the WTO dispute settlement reform proposals,which put forward by the United States,the European Union and China,and comprehensively analyzes the application of China's participation in the WTO dispute settlement mechanism,analyzes the reform proposals already put forward by the United States and the European Union,and puts forward China's countermeasures to these proposals.Finally,it is concluded that the reform of China's WTO dispute settlement mechanism should be based on the Suggestions of important WTO members,and put forward Suggestions based on China's national conditions and China's position.
