Study On Marriage Interaction Of The Disabled In Rural Areas Under The Theory Of New Media Empowerment

China has a large population of disabled people.The government has invested huge human and financial resources in ensuring their employment,education,medical care,legal rights and interests to achieve social equity.However,the problems of marriage and love of disabled people have been ignored for a long time,especially in rural areas.Marriage is an important part of human life,not only the healthy people,the disabled people are more eager for marriage,and even regard it as the only way to survive.The theory of "new media empowerment" naturally focuses on the vulnerable groups,which emphasizes the impact of information technology development on the vulnerable groups.Therefore,from the perspective of "new media empowerment",this paper uses in-depth interview,participatory observation and case study to analyze the online love story of a rural disabled person Xiao Xiao as the main case.The aim is to explore how the rural disabled people can take advantage of the power of media technology to obtain marriage and love information,how to express themselves and how to act,and finally they reap the happinesss of beautiful love.The findings are as follows.First,compared with traditional media,new media has broadened the channels for rural disabled people to obtain information on marriage and love.They no longer rely on traditional "acquaintances" as the media to obtain information,but "new media" is as the medium to obtain power.Second,new media is becoming a platform for rural disabled people to express themselves.The disabled can actively present themselves on many social medias.They can make heterosexual friends through new media.In this process,the ranks of network celebrities of rural disabled people are gradually growing.Third,rural disabled peoplecan actively use new media to carry out a series of online and offline activities,which can greatly expanding the scope of communication.The rural disabled groups are gradually showing the trend of organization.
