As a living cultural tradition, minority martial arts has always been closely connected with the production and life of minority peoples. However,in the process of irreversible modernization and urbanization, some have been transformed to be reborn, others have died or are dying, while the majority are in danger.Based on this, from the perspective of "country" and "local",this research is based on field investigations of Buyi settlements in Tangxiang Village,Guizhou Province, using the theory of cultural change as a guide and systematically introducing research methods that explain anthropology.First, from the context of historical development, the evolution of martial arts in Tangxiang village since modern times is combed, and the cultural phenomena associated with different periods are described and interpreted. Then, from the perspective of cultural holistic view, place the martial arts of Tangxiang Village in the local framework of his village, and analyze the martial arts activities in his village from the perspective of material, system, and spiritual dimensions. The interactive relationship between the impact and occurrence of the system, and through the in-depth description of the internal cultural behavior of the system to explain the cultural value of Tangxiang Village culture and martial arts. Finally,on the basis of thinking about the causality that caused its development status,it puts forward feasible opinions and suggestions,in order to provide a certain reference for the development of Tangxiang Village martial arts and the study of similar cultures. The research holds that:(1)Since the modern times, the martial arts of the Buyi ethnic group in Tangxiang Village has different characteristics and cultural characteristics in different periods.During the period from the end of the Qing Dynasty to the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, due to the natural environment and turbulent social reasons, the martial arts in Tangxiang Village, which mainly featured protecting the home and protecting the village, developed rapidly and gradually matured. After entering the founding of New China,it continued to develop as an important part of the rich cultural life of its villagers.Although it experienced a brief downturn in the "special historical period",it quickly developed and reached its peak under the influence of the general environment for a period of time after the reform and opening up.However, after entering the 1990 s,due to variousreasons,it gradually began to decline.Since the beginning of the new century, there have been signs of recovery under the impetus of "intangible heritage," but the future is not clear.(2)Tangxiang Village martial arts,as an important component of Tangxiang Village culture, has an inherent symbiotic relationship with the village culture and is compatible with the process of village culture change. In the process of social development, affected by changes in the village's human environment, production methods, customs, organizational systems, religious beliefs, and values,Tangxiang Village's martial arts content form, organizational system, and value connotation also changed.(3)In the process of modernization, the autonomy of the village's cultural subjects has decreased, leading to a break in the chain of cultural adaptation mechanisms, resulting in insufficient motivation for the inheritance and development of village martial arts. Therefore, while dealing with the relationship between tradition and modernization,it is necessary to reconstruct and construct the internal driving force and external boosting force of the village martial arts cultural adaptation to eventually form a synergy effect;thereby establishing a good martial arts cultural operation mechanism and promoting the village martial arts.Sustainable development.
