In order to break the deadlock of slow development of Chinese teaching in Costa Rica and better spread Chinese and Chinese culture,the Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica and the Ministry of education of Costa Rica worked together to launch the Hablamos Mandarín Chinese teaching project of Costa Rica public middle school in March 2016.As a bold attempt to explore and develop a new model of Chinese teaching,the project has been attached great importance by the Ministry of education of Costa Rica and the Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica since its establishment,promoting the development of international Chinese education in Costa Rica,promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries,and helping the construction of diplomatic relations between the two countries.Therefore,the author thinks it is necessary to make a comprehensive investigation and analysis of the specific situation of the project.Based on the relevant research results of scholars at home and abroad,combined with the author's personal experience as a volunteer teacher of the project,this paper investigates the implementation of the research project by means of questionnaire survey on the students and Chinese teachers involved in the project,interviews with relevant project leaders,and observation and practice of Chinese class,mainly analyzing basic situation of Chinese teaching project.The research results show that the overall implementation of Hablamos Mandarín Chinese teaching project in Costa Rica public middle school is good,and the teaching results are recognized by all parties.The project has a certain value,and the relevant experience is worth learning from other countries.However,there are also some problems in the implementation of the project,such as the low cooperation of schools,the low level of teachers in western languages,the lack of teaching experience,and the lack of project management ability.In view of the above problems,the author puts forward the corresponding feasible suggestions.In the future operation of the project,we should strictly control the school selection criteria,establish the evaluation mechanism,open online learning classes,improve teacher training,etc.
