Evaluation of students' scientific argumentation ability is an important research direction to explore students' academic ability and its progression,and to investigate the effectiveness of relevant courses and teaching.In SSI,demonstration is the application of scientific knowledge,scientific methods and scientific thinking in complex situations.In this study,184 second-year nursing students in a secondary vocational school in Dingxi City were tested on their argumentation ability in social-chemistry issues by using self-designed questionnaires and evaluation criteria as investigation tools.The results show that: 1.The overall level of argumentation ability of 95% of secondary vocational school students in social chemistry issues is at a low level.Few students can complete a relatively complete argumentation process,and few students reach a high level of argumentation.2.Vocational school students can construct their own arguments by putting forward advocacy dimension and giving reason dimension in each sub-competence level of argumentation ability in social chemistry issues,but in turn,they perform worse and worse in the scores of putting forward counter-argument dimension,giving evidence dimension and giving supportive argument.3.there is no significant difference in the overall level of argumentation ability between three different social gender subjects in different gender.However,the total score of girls in the questionnaire and the total score of each topic are higher than that of boys,that is,the level of female students' argumentation ability is slightly higher than that of boys' argumentation ability.According to the survey,the current in the secondary vocational issues in social reasoning ability there is a big room to improve,suggest that secondary vocational educators should pay more attention to the demonstration teaching of chemistry education,actively creating SSI in the classroom teaching situation,choose the appropriate teaching strategy,attaches great importance to the training in the teaching improve the reasoning ability of secondary vocational students.
