Since the new curriculum reform,the state has been attaching importance to the cultivation of students' ability.The Ministry of Education proposes to develop students' core qualities and attach importance to students' problem solving ability.The Geography Curriculum Standards for General Senior High Schools(2017 edition)clearly mentions the importance of problem teaching in the implementation of geography curriculum and the reform of teaching methods.The Geography Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 edition)also emphasizes that students should experience the process of solving geographical problems and gradually master the methods of analyzing and solving geographical problems.All these show the importance of cultivating students' core qualities in geography.The urgent problem is how to improve students' problem-solving ability.Thematic problem teaching is an important teaching method for learning regional geography in junior middle school.The research on effective strategies of theme-based problem teaching is conducive to strengthening the ability of solving geographic problems of junior middle school students and better cultivating their core subject literacy.In this study,after consulting and reading relevant literature on teaching geographical topics and questions,the eighth grade students of Waihai Middle School in Jiangmen city conducted a questionnaire survey on the respondents,and on this basis,the examination method was used to test the students,so as to determine the teaching status of the five thematic problems of regional geography.According to the investigation and test results,after analyzing the existing problems,I proposed effective classroom teaching strategies for regional geographic thematic problems in junior middle schools,integrated the strategies into teaching design and carried out teaching experimental research.The research results show that:(1)The results of the questionnaire survey on the status quo of regional geography thematic questions in junior middle schools and the test results of the comprehensive questions in Guangdong Province geography senior Middle School examination in2019 both indicate that there are some deficiencies in the current regional geography thematic questions in junior middle schools.As follow,it is mainly manifested in the five themes of regional geography not highlighted in the problem teaching,the selection of geographical materials is not fine,the lack of effective problem chain through the classroom,the implementation of the core quality of geography is not in place.(2)In order to give full play to the effectiveness of theme-based teaching in regional geography classes in junior middle schools and in accordance with the requirements of the new curriculum standards,four strategies are proposed: Elaborate selection of regional theme materials;Elaborate regional thematic questions;Pay attention to the effective learning methods of different thematic problems;Focus on core literacy and analyze thematic issues.(3)teaching experiment results show that the above four teaching strategies can not only improve students' geographical study result and improve the students' interest in geography learning,and students have a more detailed comprehensive understanding on the regional geographic five subject matter.Importantly,the geographical problem solving ability of students is enhanced,the relationship between teachers and students have become more friendly.This study five theme from regional geographical problems,and it makes a detailed analysis of the deficiencies in the thematic classes of regional geography in junior middle school.on this basis,effective teaching strategies are proposed from the perspective of the selection of topic material,the design of topic problem,and the classroom learning mode and core quality,which provides the daily teaching reference in regional geography for junior high school geography teachers,and provides support on the carry out of the core quality in practical classroom teaching.
