| This investigation is carried out on learning strategies of the students who study in a senior high school in Inner Mongolia which enrolls students in both urban and rural areas as well as forestry and animal husbandry areas within Hulunboir. The investigation is done by means of questionnaire involving 177 students. The research focuses on the influences that can be caused to strategies by grades, gender, achievements, residential areas, the way of living and the amount of education their parents receive. After statistics analysis the conclusion has been drawn as follows. 1. There does exist difference in the level of learning strategies between grades, but it is not of significant importance. Students in senior grade one are of the highest level in learning strategies. Students in senior grade three come next, while students in senior grade two are of the lowest. 2. Obvious differences are found between achievement groups. Students of high marks possess high-leveled learning strategies but students of low marks only use low-leveled learning strategies. 3. Boys and girls are different in using learning strategies, and the difference has reached the significant level. Although the total level of learning strategies found in girls is higher than that of boys, boys have better metacognitive strategies and resource management strategies than girls. 4. Students brought up in rural areas have better learning strategies than those in urban areas, but the accurate reasons remain to be found in further research. 5. The way of living has some effect on students'learning strategies. 6. The amount of education that parents receive is also a factor that affects the level of senior high school students'leaning strategies, especially on metacognitive strategies 7. There is a relatively close relationship between the level of learning strategies and the instruction which students have received from their families. In this research the writer also puts forward a suggestion that a parent school should be set up, where parents can be trained to enlarge their knowledge in learning strategies. In this way, the function of family instructions can be made full use of and the learning strategies of senior high school students will be improved more efficiently. |
