Since the beginning of the 21 st century,knowledge and skill-oriented school education has become increasingly unable to meet the multi-level needs of education.Cultivating student's basic ability to adapt to future life and meet social needs has become the focus of education reform in various countries.Social and emotional learning is the latest exploration to achieve this goal.New York State is closely following the educational policy reform trend of the federal government,and formulated its own state education development plan for the Every Student Succeeds Act(ESSA).The plan was approved by the U.S.Department of Education in 2018.Social and emotional learning as an important part of the plan,it was incorporated into the New York State school education system,and a relatively complete curriculum system was established.This study takes the New York primary and secondary school social and emotional learning curriculum as the research object,through in-depth research,combined with the current situation of the implementation of social emotional and learning curriculum in China,to provide reference for the construction of social and emotional learning curriculum system in China.This study is mainly divided into five parts: The first part shows the background and development status of the current United States social and emotional learning curriculum through data combing;after that,this study takes New York State as an example to carry out in-depth research on the social and emotional learning curriculum in the United States,which constitutes the second,third,fourth and fifth parts of this study.Specifically,the second part discusses the background of the establishment of the social and emotional learning curriculum system in New York State's primary and secondary schools from two aspects: the current state of New York state's primary and secondary education and the historical evolution of the social and emotional learning curriculum;the third part mainly introduces the society of New York State's primary and secondary schools The curriculum standards and curriculum settings of the emotional and learning curriculum are designed to deepen the understanding of the social and emotional learning curriculum;the fourth part mainly analyzes the implementation and evaluation of the social emotional and learning curriculum in New York State primary and secondary schools,showing the concrete implementation of the social and emotional learning curriculum from a practical level;The fifth part first summarizes and combs the characteristics and advanced experience of the social and emotional learning curriculum in New York State elementary and secondary schools.On this basis,looking at the reality of education in China,it puts forward targeted suggestions for implementing and improving the social and emotional learning curriculum in China.The study found that the New York State Elementary and Middle School Social Emotional Learning Curriculum emphasizes people-oriented and educational fairness in goal setting;emphasizes the practicality,scientificity and integration of curriculum content in terms of curriculum content;there are multiple subjects and strong operability in curriculum implementation.In the aspect of curriculum evaluation,developmental evaluation purpose and standardized evaluation content are promoted.Based on the above characteristics,this research puts forward specific suggestions for the development of social emotional learning curriculum in China: formulate localized and scientific curriculum goals;construct socialized and systematic curriculum content;promote practical and innovative curriculum implementation;adhere to developmental and diversified curriculum evaluation.
