PBL mode is an advanced teaching mode which is suitable for the development of education in China.PBL mode is applied in biology teaching in senior high schools,which emphasizes setting meaningful questions and integrating them into specific situations.The teaching of "Question Discussion" column in required biology textbooks in senior high schools coincides with PBL mode.This column can cultivate students' subject core literacy by creating effective problem teaching situations,and can also be used as materials for classroom teaching,which is of great significance to stimulate students' learning motivation and improve the overall vitality of the classroom.Therefore,based on the analysis of the "Question Discussion" column in senior high school biology textbooks and the investigation of teaching status,the teaching design and experimental research are carried out to explore the influence of the "Question Discussion" column teaching based on PBL mode on the development of students' core literacy.In the study,literature research,investigation research and educational experiment were used to make a preliminary study on the teaching design of "Question Discussion" column in senior high school biology textbooks based on PBL mode.First of all,the author analyzes and summarizes the content composition,types,characteristics and teaching value of "Question Discussion" column,a compulsory module of senior high school biology textbook published by PEP.Secondly,by means of teachers' questionnaire and students' interview,the present teaching situation of "Question Discussion" column was investigated.The results show that although teachers have a certain understanding of this column,there are still many problems: teachers and students are not familiar with the content of this column enough;Teachers' awareness of the importance,application and design intention of this column needs to be improved;Students' understanding of the role of this column needs to be improved;Teachers' understanding and application of PBL model need to be improved.Thirdly,according to the problems existing in PBL mode,"Biology Curriculum Standard for Ordinary Senior High School" and "Question Discussion" teaching,the author designed the teaching of "Question Discussion" column based on PBL mode,which not only put forward the teaching strategies of implementing PBL teaching,creating real situations,developing inquiry activities,attaching importance to discipline connection,integrating theory with practice and skillfully using visual AIDS,but also formulated the general process of case design: selecting teaching columns and making teaching analysis;Formulate teaching plans and set up cooperation groups;Design teaching process and carry out teaching experiment;Carry out teaching reflection and improve teaching implementation,and develop typical teaching cases.Finally,the teaching experiment is carried out,and the experimental class and the control class are set up.The experimental class adopts the teaching design of "Question Discussion" column based on PBL mode to carry out the teaching of "Question Discussion" column,while the control class adopts the conventional teaching method.The results of classroom observation and teacher interview show that the experimental class is superior to the control class in classroom performance and teacher-student interaction.Using SPSS21.0 software to process and analyze the questionnaire survey data of the student core literacy level,the results show that the experimental class and the control class are in the overall level of core literacy(Sig.=0.041<0.05),life concept(Sig.=0.018<0.05),scientific thinking(Sig.=0.025<0.05)and scientific inquiry(SIG.The experimental class is better than the control class.There is no significant difference in social responsibility(Sig.=0.109>0.05)between the two classes,but the experimental class is better than the control class as a whole.As a result,the effectiveness and feasibility of the teaching design of "Question Discussion" column based on PBL mode are preliminarily verified.From the research results,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The teaching of "Question Discussion" based on PBL mode can improve students' classroom performance;(2)"Question Discussion" teaching based on PBL mode can effectively enhance the interaction between teachers and students;(3)"Question Discussion" teaching based on PBL mode is helpful to promote the development of students' core literacy level.
