A Case Management Study On The Assistance Of Poor Families With Disabilities In Urban Areas

The "poverty" of urban poor disabled families is mainly manifested in low income and high expenditure.The essence of the poverty problem is not a single survival problem but a complex development problem,which is mainly manifested in social exclusion,lack of ability and unequal development opportunities.This paper takes the implementation of disability empowerment project in Z Street of X City as an example to study the application of case management method to help poor disabled families in the city.The study found that the needs of such poor families are diversified and the family members are heterogeneous.The fundamental way to help these poor families to solve their difficulties is to improve the feasible capacity of the family and its members and solve their development problems.The social work method of case management has the unique advantage of linking multiple resources to carry out multi-process tasks.In the early stage,relying on the project,the author selected and determined the service objects through in-depth interview and evaluation,provided the service for the service objects according to the case management method,evaluated the service by means of process evaluation and result evaluation after the conclusion of the case,and determined that the general service objectives and specific service objectives had been basically achieved.Through the analysis of the practical process of this case,it can be found that the social work method of case management has strong pertinence and significant advantages of service system to participate in the work of urban disabled families,which can meet the differentiated and diversified needs of families with difficulties.However,its disadvantages are also obvious: the integration of accurate resources is not enough,the resource link is strongly dependent on the individual personality of workers,the case management workers need to continue to improve their comprehensive ability,and the service groups have a certain exclusion of non-material help;Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen the top-level design,promote resource sharing,perfect the social worker training system and strengthen the community linkage publicity.
