Bibliometrics uses mathematical and statistical methods to quantitatively analyze the literature data to reveal the laws behind the data.It has developed rapidly since its establishment and has been widely used in collection construction,indexing work,academic consulting and evaluation.Generally,the literature data is characterized by large scale,complexity and disorder.Therefore,the statistical analysis of the literature data often requires the comprehensive application of multiple research methods.This article uses higher education research as an example,based on the sample data retrieved from the CSSCI database,to carry out a statistical analysis of higher education research literature.This research mainly uses a combination of bibliometrics and visual maps to analyze and visually display the development status,research hotspots,and frontiers of higher education in China.Quantitative statistical methods are used to reveal the trend of its development and change,which provides some references for the development of higher education in China.This article makes a statistical analysis of the development and research status of higher education in China,revealing the changing trend of the literature research content in this discipline,the distribution of journals and scientific research institutions,the volume of authors' publications,cooperative relations,activity indexes,and co-cited journals and cocited authors.The research results show that the research hotspots in China's higher education are mainly education quality,talent training,university management,internationalization,and higher education research;and the cutting-edge research topics in this field are mooc,dual first-class,and higher education popularization.
