Complex numbers play an important role in mathematics,physics,electrical engineering,aerospace and other scientific research.The concept of complex numbers is the foundation of knowledge of complex numbers.It is important to understand the concept of complex numbers in depth.However,in the teaching and learning of the concept of complex number in middle schools in China,there are some problems,such as the introduction of the concept with the result of complex number,the mechanical memorization and incomprehensibility of students when they study.According to the concept of the new curriculum standards and Freudenthal's theory of mathematical re-creation,the literature analysis method is used to gain an in-depth understanding of the generation and development of the concept of complex numbers,and it is found that the teaching of complex concepts from the perspective of problem-driven is of great significance.This paper compares the setting of complex concept in different versions of textbooks in China,and analyzes the current situation of complex concept teaching in middle school by means of student's questionnaire survey and teacher's interview.Combined with the theory and the actual situation,the teaching strategy of complex concept based on the problem driven is proposed,and the teaching method of explaining the connotation of complex concept is designed from the algebraic point of view of solving univariate cubic equation and the perspective of geometric plane rotation movement.This paper selects two classes of a senior high school in Xiangtan city to carry out comparative teaching.From classroom observation,homework analysis and student interviews,it is found that the teaching of complex concept from the perspective of problem driven has a positive impact.Problem-driven teaching of complex number concepts in middle school can effectively solve the cognitive obstacles of students to the concept of imaginary unit and complex number,help students understand the connotation of complex number concept;guide students to find problems,think deeply about problems,and improve their mathematical thinking ability;cultivate the mathematical core literacy of logical reasoning and intuitive imagination,which is conducive to the development of student's subsequent in-depth learning of complex number and comprehensive ability.Of course,effective teaching implementation can not be separated from the efforts of teachers,but at the same time,it can make teacher's complex numberconcepts knowledge construction more comprehensive.
