With the continuously in-depth classroom teaching reform, information technology has been widely used.Mathematics Curriculum Standard for Senior Middle School(2017 Edition)stipulates that teachers should make full use of information technology to optimize classroom teaching as well as the advantages of information technology software to develop students' mathematics key competency. In the new mathematics textbook(Edition B),published by People's Education Press(PEP),a section about information technology application based on Geo Gebra software has been introduced. Therefore,to further deeply integrate information technology with mathematics class is one of significant tasks for mathematics teaching in the future. At the same time, teachers should adapt to the development of the new era and improve their abilities to use information technology.Combined with the New Curriculum Standard and PEP B version mathematics textbook, this thesis grounded on Mayer's cognitive theory firstly illustrates the application of Geo Gebra software in the textbook, analyzes the research status quo of Geo Gebra software,Mayer cognitive theory and geometry teaching, summarizes the functions and characteristics of this software, expounds the theoretical basis and cognitive processing model of Mayer cognitive theory, and draw the structure model of the software.Furthermore, based on Mayer's cognitive theory,a cognitive processing model of geometry teaching is constructed, and its design principles are also proposed in a Geo Gebra environment. Finally, take “Plane and Space Vector in Space” and “Standard Equation of Parabola” as examples, this model is applied to these two cases which are adapted according to the technical characteristics of Geo Gebra.Through analyzing the section about the Geo Gebra software application in the textbook, the author finds that Geo Gebra software covers a wide range of knowledge fields and its functional areas are quite comprehensive.Nonetheless,it is insufficiently integrated with the teaching content, thus less being used in the class as a whole. Therefore, the in-depth integration of Geo Gebra software and teaching content should be strengthened for the purpose of giving full play to its functions. After observing the teaching situation and the effects of teaching activities, combined with questionnaires and interviews with teachers, the author draws the following preliminary conclusions: With the help of the Geo Gebra software, students can observe unchanging laws from dynamically changing graphics, unload the cognitive load of students and promote meaningful learning, which fully displays the advantages of information technology. And at the same time,it is conducive to arousing students' learning interest, attracting their attention, activating classroom atmosphere and acquiring knowledge. These conclusions provides valuable pedagogical implications for teachers. In summary, this article attempts to study the application of Geo Gebra software in the mathematics textbook of high school so as to offer relevant implications and materials for the adaptation of the book. However, this research is still in its infancy, and the model for adapting and constructing teaching materials needs further to be adjusted and improved.
