The idea and method of function play an important role in mathematics curriculum of senior high school.As an important part of function knowledge and the application of function concepts and properties in practical problems,function application questions play an important role in senior high school mathematics curriculum.The function application problem here is the application of the concept of function and its properties in practical problems,not in the application of mathematics.It is the core knowledge of high school mathematics curriculum and one of the hotspots of college entrance examination.However,due to the abstraction of function knowledge points and the comprehensiveness of application problems,there are serious obstacles for students to solve function application problems.Therefore,this study through a high school students in third grade in-depth questionnaires and test papers survey combined with interviews,high school students in third grade function application problems of obstacles and reasons for analysis.This study mainly focuses on the following issues:(1)the Present Situation of the Application Questions of Learning Function for Senior Three Students;(2)the main obstacles and causes of students' solving several kinds of function application problems;(3)according to the obstacles and causes of students' solving functional application problems,the corresponding teaching strategies are put forward.The survey shows that the main obstacles for senior high school students to solve functional application problems are cognitive obstacle,non-cognitive obstacle and metacognitive obstacle.Cognitive obstacle is manifested in four parts: dyslexia of reading comprehension,dyslexia of functional model construction,dyslexia of model solving and dyslexia of model testing.Non-cognitive obstacle is characterized by affective disorder.Metacognitive obstacle is manifested in related resource selection disorder and proximity self-prediction disorder.According to the results of questionnaires and interviews,the causes of these obstacles are analyzed.The results show that the main causes of reading comprehension obstacles are:(1)long narration;(2)lack of life experience;(3)unclear professional terms.The main reasons for the obstacles in the construction of functional models are the poor transformation ability from prototype to model.The main causes of obstacles to model solving are:(1)the basic skills are not solid;(2)the thinking does not pay attention to the calculation process;and the causes of obstacles to model testing are:lack of awareness of model testing.The causes of non-cognitive obstacle are:(1)insufficient learning motivation;(2)high fear of difficulties.The reasons for the obstacles in choosing relevant resources are:(1)lack of problem sense in problem solving;(2)lack of reflective consciousness after solving problems.The cause of Self-Predictive barrier of proximity degree is that the goal consciousness is not strong.In view of these obstacles and their causes,the following suggestions are put forward:(1)to guide students through a complete process of functional modeling;(2)to design effective functional application scenarios;(3)to help students establish functional application problems to solve the target structure.
