At present,the trend of globalization is irresistible,the world is increasingly becoming a whole,countries have become "close neighbors",more and more countries realize the importance of national image.As a pair of "old friends" with complicated relations,China and the United States are hovering at the crossroads.Middle school history textbook is an important carrier for students to construct the image of other countries,and it presents obvious stage characteristics with the changes of the times.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the construction of American image in middle school history textbooks.Through the methods of literature research,comparative research and summary induction,this paper combs the changes of American history writing in high school history textbooks since the founding of New China,and analyzes the changes of American image and general trend in textbooks in different periods.and further explore the reasons that affect the changes of American history writing in textbooks,in order to provide another perspective for understanding the current Sino-US relations.It also provides new ideas for American history teaching in middle school history teaching.This paper mainly studies the construction of American image in high school history textbooks since the founding of New China from four aspects.The first part is the introduction.This paper mainly expounds the reason and significance of choosing this topic,as well as the concepts of "textbook","American image" and "writing style".It reviews the relevant research situation in academic circles,and explains the main research ideas and research methods.The second part focuses on the theory,which mainly discusses the expression form and construction mechanism of "national image".The national image is a complex with many forms of expression.This study analyzes the forms of national image from two angles of value orientation and related fields: first,from the perspective of value orientation,national image can be divided into positive image,negative image and neutral image.Second,from different fields,the country's political image,economic image,cultural image and diplomatic image are the general forms of national image.Generally speaking,the formation of national image is inseparable from three elements: national activities are the basis of image construction;information transmission is the key to national image construction;individual cognition is the core of national image construction.The third part is mainly text research,which combs the provisions of the syllabus(curriculum standards)on the study of American history since the founding of New China,and the general situation of the writing of American history books in high school history textbooks.this paper analyzes the American image in the content of American history in high school history textbooks.According to the changes of the times,the curriculum reform and the changes of American history content in high school history textbooks,this study takes 1978 and 2003 as two time nodes,which is divided into three stages to complete the above carding and analysis.The fourth part mainly analyzes the changing trend and influencing factors of American image constructed by the content of American history in high school history textbooks.Generally speaking,since the founding of New China,the American image constructed by high school history textbooks has changed in three aspects: first,from perceptual expression to rational construction;second,from a single political image to a comprehensive image;third,from negative image to dialectical positive and negative image.There are many factors that affect the compilation of textbooks,such as the achievements of subject research,the level of editors,the will of the country,the status of students,and so on.However,considering the ideological characteristics of history textbooks and the theme of this study,this paper intends to focus on the analysis of the influence of the times and discipline research,that is,the impact of changes in the international situation,socialist construction and development of domestic American history research on the writing of American history books in textbooks.The last part is the conclusion and discussion of the article.Through the research,it can be found that there is a lot of research space for the expression of American image in high school history textbooks;the writing and expression of American image in high school history textbooks show a more comprehensive,comprehensive,objective and standardized trend with the development of time;in addition,the shaping of the national image in textbooks is affected by multiple factors and has been marked with a deep brand of the times.The construction of national image is a complex issue,which is influenced and restricted by national activities,information media and cognitive concepts.Whether history teaching can completely and objectively construct the national image of a specific country,the rationality and degree of the brand of the times in the construction of national image,and how to solve the possible information conflicts in the full-media era,are expected to get more attention from researchers.
