In mathematics teaching,students should realize that mathematical symbols are not only a tool for logical thinking and mathematical creation,but also a scientific language for communication and expression of mathematical ideas.Since my country's "Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards" clearly put forward the title of mathematical symbol sense and later revised as the title of mathematical symbol awareness,domestic research on mathematical symbol sense has gradually become active.In recent years,the research on this subject has achieved rich results,but researchers have rarely set foot in the evaluation of mathematical symbol sense.Mathematical symbol sense is one of the basic qualities of citizens and an important component of the core literacy of mathematics.The abstract logical thinking of junior school students is increasingly dominant.This stage is a critical period for the development of mathematical symbol sense.Therefore,the construction of the evaluation index system for junior middle school students' mathematical symbol sense has very important theoretical and practical significance.It helps to detect and evaluate the development of junior middle school students' mathematical symbol sense,and provides a reference for optimizing teacher classroom teaching and student symbol sense evaluation,and further enriches the evaluation theory of students' mathematical symbol sense.This study takes junior middle school students as the research object,and draws on the existing educational evaluation index system to construct ideas and methods,and comprehensively uses the literature research method,the interview method,the expert consultation method,the test survey method and the mathematical statistics method,etc.qualitative and quantitative Combining methods,explores and constructs a junior middle school students' mathematics symbol sense evaluation index system,and compiled test tools to apply the constructed evaluation index system,and the research process and conclusions are as follows:First,explore the operable definition of mathematics symbol sense of junior middle school students.Based on literature research,the analysis of the connotation of mathematical symbol sense,and the text analysis of the "Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standard(2011 Edition)",combined with expert interview opinions,we try to construct an operable definition of junior middle school students' mathematical symbol sense:(1)identify different types of mathematical symbols,know the differences and connections between symbols,and understand the meanings represented by mathematical symbols;(2)abstractly summarize the relationship between number and quantity,figure and figure relationship,and general laws from specific situations,and actively express them in abstract mathematical symbolic language;(3)translate between mathematical symbol language and other mathematical languages(text language,graphic language)in specific situations to more accurately grasp the essential attributes of mathematical objects;(4)use symbols to perform operations and reasoning in accordance with the rules,and actively use mathematical symbols to perform mathematical modeling to solve practical problems.Second,explore and establish the evaluation index of mathematics symbol sense of junior middle school students.First of all,based on the definition of the operability of the mathematical symbol sense of junior middle school students,combined with the theoretical research of the connotation of the mathematical symbol sense in the early stage and the principles of the construction of the index system,the primary and secondary indicators of the evaluation index system of the mathematical symbol sense of the junior middle school students are preliminarily drawn up,and then use the expert consultation method to synthesize the two rounds of expert opinions and re-read the relevant literature to revise the preliminary indicators at all levels.Finally,it is determined that the junior middle school students' mathematical symbol sense evaluation index system includes 3 first-level indicators:mathematical symbol understanding,mathematical symbol abstraction,and mathematical symbol application,and 9 second-level indicators.Third,determine the weights of all levels of the junior middle school students' mathematical symbol sense evaluation index system.According to the constructed junior middle school students' mathematical symbol sense evaluation index system,a questionnaire for judging the relative importance of indicators at all levels is compiled for expert surveys,and the weights of the first and second indicators are calculated with the aid of Yaahp software and the analytic hierarchy process.Among them,there were 3first-level indicators.The relative weight coefficients of mathematical symbol understanding,mathematical symbol abstraction,and mathematical symbol application are 0.31,0.34,and 0.35,respectively.Fourth,the preliminary application of the evaluation index system to illustrate the operability of the evaluation index system.Use the test survey method mainly to carry out the application and practice test of the mathematical symbol sense evaluation index system,and this test selects junior middle school third grade students from a certain place as the survey object.According to the evaluation index system,the test tools are compiled.The quality analysis shows that the test difficulty and discrimination are reasonable,with high reliability and good validity.Then analyze the overall situation of the development of the students' mathematical symbol sense in junior three,and test the differences in the performance of the subjects' mathematical symbol sense in gender and urban and rural areas.The test results are consistent with existing research conclusions or actual conditions,and this shows that the constructed junior middle school students' mathematical symbol sense evaluation index system has certain operability.The new research intention of this research is: the first attempt to put forward the operational definition of mathematical symbol sense of junior middle school students,and starting from the operational definition,combined with the method of educational evaluation to construct a mathematical symbol sense evaluation index system for junior middle school students(including indicators weights).Generally speaking,this article attempts to construct the evaluation index system of mathematical symbol sense of junior middle school students and has passed the empirical application test,which enriches the evaluation research of mathematical symbol sense.However,due to the limitations of my academic theoretical level and research conditions,there are still problems in the research process such as the single primary selection method of indicators,and the limited survey samples in the empirical test.In the future,related theories and empirical research need to be further improved and deepened.
