Cognitive structure is messages that stored in memory through assimilation and accommodation.Logical connection occurred by means of coding.Cognitive structure is personal.Because of the fact that the essence of studying is learner's initiative construction,cognitive structure could reflect students' circumstances and styles to some degrees.However,cognitive structures is a kind of inner,imaginary structure.To concrete it,Flow Map is used,which supports both quantitative and qualitative analysis and has been accepted by many researches.This research is based on Flow Map and statistics from a high school in Fu Jian province.High-level students and low-level students were selected to be sample.Electrochemistry is chosen as an example.Students chosen were chased through the time of Grade 2 to 3 of senior high school.Quantitative connections between two varieties of cognitive structures and grades are analyzed.Types of cognitive structure and studying style are also analyzed.Though quantitative research,on the one hand,the relationship between cognitive structure variables,information processing variables and academic performance,as well as the relationship between the two variables are analyzed.On the other hand,the paired sample t test was carried out to analyze the variation of Flow Map variables of different types of students with time.Though qualitative research,firstly,according to the characteristics of the Flow Map,the subjects are classified into three categories and six sub-categories.The characteristics of each category are discussed,and the number of Flow Map categories of different types of students in different learning stages is counted.The content of the Flow Map was deeply analyzed to explore the differences of cognitive structure content between excellent students and poor students.Though the study of the typical case of the interview,selecting the typical knowledge of eugenics,typical poor student,from healthy birth into a medium lives,from poor student to learn healthy birth,four cases for knowledge input methods,characterization,extraction,post-processing way four aspects to carry on the interview,confirmed that the learning style and learning strategy impact on the foundation of the cognitive structure.Conclusion is put up based on researches above.Students' cognitive structures are specific,which affect scores a lot and is associate to learning styles.In grade 2,scores are mainly to do with the amount of knowledge,which is stored as define or description.In grade 3,scores are mainly to do with the structures and high-level strategies.Lowlevel students' scores are coordinate to the amount of knowledge while high-level students' are to do with high-level strategies.After one-year study,high-level students make progress in connections of knowledge while low-level students make progress in amount of knowledge.Though content analysis,cognitive structures are divided into three forms,which varies because of different learning styles.Teaching enlightenment and suggestions are raised including encouraging students to form cognitive structure in personalized ways,clarify the logical relationship of knowledge structure,and evaluate students' cognitive structure in stages.
