The Effect Of Psychological Abuse On Aggressive Behavior In Junior High School Students: The Chain Mediating Effect Of Mental Toughness And Coping Style

In recent years,violent assaults on campus have occurred frequently,which not only affects adolescents' peer relationships,but also endangers their physical and psychological health,bringing many negative effects on their growth and development.As an risk factor for aggressive behavior,psychological abuse is inextricably related to aggressive behavior.Based on previous studies,this paper investigates junior high school students' experiences of psychological abuse and the current situation of aggressive behavior,and explores the mediating role of psychological resilience and coping style in the influence of psychological abuse on aggressive behavior.The Childhood Psychological Abuse Scale,the Adolescent Resilience Scale,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and the Aggressive Behavior Scale were used,a total of 900 middle school students in Zhengzhou City were surveyed by questionnaires,and the data from the questionnaires were counted and processed with SPSS statistical software and its plug-in PROCESS,and the conclusions can be drawn as follows:(1)Psychological abuse differs significantly in gender,age,only child,and whether parents get divorced or not,specifically: girls > boys;the third grade of middle school > the second grade of middle school > the first grade of middle school;only child > non-only child;parents get divorced > parents not divorced.(2)Aggressive behavior differs significantly in gender,only child,and whether parents get divorced or not,specifically: boys > girls on the dimension of physical aggression,girls > boys on the dimension of anger and hostility;parents get divorced > parents not divorced;and only child > non-only child.(3)Psychological abuse can positively predict individual's aggressive behavior.The deeper the individual is psychologically abused,the more likely it is to produce aggressive behavior.(4)The results of the correlation analysis shows that there is a significant correlation between psychological abuse,psychological resilience,coping style and aggressive behavior.(5)The mediation analysis results show that psychological resilience plays a part of mediating role between psychological abuse and aggressive behavior,coping style plays a part of mediating role between psychological abuse and aggressive behavior,and psychological resilience as well as coping style play a chain mediating role between psychological abuse and aggressive behavior.
