The report of the 19th National Congress clearly puts forward that to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,it is necessary to grasp the basic project of building a strong education country,and physical education,as a "key education" in the overall development of moral,intellectual,physical,social and aesthetic development,has highlighted its important role.The use of physical education games in physical education can highlight the fun and diversity of the physical education curriculum,enhance students' interest in participating in sports,better understand and master the teaching content in a pleasant atmosphere,and promote the development of students' physical functions and enhance their physical and mental health while making them more willing to participate in sports,which is an effective teaching tool to promote students' overall physical and mental development.Based on the national strategy of youth school football,the important role of football in primary and secondary school physical education is self-evident.How to popularise football knowledge and skills while cultivating students' interest in football and effectively promote the physical fitness and all-round development of young people has become an urgent problem.This study aims to explore the effective teaching to improve the technical level of junior high school students' football and cultivate students' interest in football,and to apply sports games to junior high school football class teaching.Through a 16-week teaching experiment,the teaching effect of sports games teaching on junior high school students' football technical level and football interest was compared and analysed.This study adopts the methods of literature,questionnaire,experiment and mathematical statistics.Taking the application effect of sports games in junior high school football teaching as the research object,two classes of students in the first grade of the 2021 class of K City J Middle School were used as the experimental subjects,and they were randomly divided into a group of experimental classes and a group of control classes for teaching experimental groups.The students in the experimental class and the control class both had a certain football foundation,with the experimental class(23 males and 21 females)and the control class(22 males and 22females).Before the experiment,the students of the two classes were tested on their technical level of football and their interest level in football,and the test results showed no significant difference.The experimental class was taught using physical education games and the control class was taught using the conventional teaching method,and both classes lasted 48 hours.Conclusions:(1)Technical level of football: After the experimental class was taught with physical education games,the students' technical level test scores of round-trip dribbling,positional passing and positional shooting all increased significantly compared with those before the experiment(P<0.05);after the control class was taught with regular football teaching,their technical level of round-trip dribbling,positional passing and positional shooting all increased significantly compared with those before the experiment(P(<0.05),after comparing and analyzing,the experimental class physical game teaching can improve the students' technical level of football more significantly compared with the regular football teaching,and there is a significant difference between the two.(2)Interest level of football: After the experimental class students were taught sports games in football class,their interest level in football increased significantly(P<0.05);after the control class students were taught regular football,their interest level in football increased significantly(P<0.05);after the comparative analysis,both sports games teaching and regular football teaching can significantly improve However,the level of students' interest in football was significantly increased by the teaching of sports games,and there was a significant difference between the two.Recommendations:(1)Sports games should be used in all parts of the physical education process: teaching sports games can effectively mobilise students' enthusiasm for sports,stimulate their interest in sports,make them participate in sports actively,enhance their physical fitness and develop a good attitude towards physical exercise,and then develop a lifelong habit of physical exercise.(2)The teaching of sports games should be student-oriented and stimulate students' autonomy: in the process of teaching sports games,students should always follow the student-oriented principle,fully mobilise and stimulate students' autonomy,so that students can participate in sports games with positive attitudes and actions,while teachers are mainly guided and reminded.(3)The selection or creation of physical education games should be reasonable: when selecting and creating physical education games,physical education teachers should take into full consideration the conditions of students and the conditions of the venue,and prepare the teaching materials,lessons,students and venues before teaching physical education games.(4)The implementation of physical education games requires the participation of all students: physical education teachers should pay more attention to the performance of students with a weaker foundation in physical education games and actively encourage them to join in the physical exercise,so that every student can participate in the physical education games.
