Objectively speaking,deepening the reform of undergraduate education and improving the quality of personnel training is the foundation of building a powerful country in higher education.However,if we carefully examine the campus life of college students,it is not difficult to find that there is a widespread phenomenon of a state of idleness among college students in our country.Gradually,they degenerate from the “ college material ” to marginal learner.Learning marginalization not only affects the life growth and development of college students,but also hinders the improvement of the quality of higher education.Thus,this study attempts to examine the degradation of “ college material” by exploring the causes of the degradation of “college materials”,and trying to provide some suggestions for college students to get out of the status of learning marginalization.This study attempts to show the formation process from “college material” to“ marginal learner ” through the typical individuals who are marginalized in the study of college students with the in-depth interviews and case analysis.Combined with Weisberg' s theory of “marginal people” and the realistic investigation of the marginalization of college students ' learning,this study refines it into three types: lonely and arrogant fighters,waiters with hope and despair,and over-indulgence.Furthermore,it analyzes the causes of college students' learning marginalization from the following aspects of individual learners,learner family cultural capital,university system and cultural environment.It is found that the lack of prior motivation of learners,the limitation of family cultural capital and the restriction of university system and cultural environment are important factors for college students ' learning marginalization.Finally,this study attempts to put forward targeted strategies for college students to get out of the role of learning marginalization from individual learners,teachers,colleges and universities.Specifically,at first,college students should establish the concept of “learning for themselves” and make clear their learning goals.They could improve their learning habits and skills through autonomous learning,cooperative learning,online and offline learning.Secondly,teachers should establish the educational concept of“ teaching for cultivating a whole man ”.They should not only guide college students' initiative in learning,but also promote the overall development of college students.Thirdly,colleges and universities should give full play to the function of their own culture and education.The key to solve the dilemma of learning marginalization and reshape their learning subject identity is to stimulate the interest and motivation of college students ' learning participation with good spiritual culture,people-oriented system culture,beautiful material culture and effective behavior culture.
