According to the Chemistry Curriculum Standards of Regular High Schools(2017 Edition Revision in 2020),the 2019 edition of the textbook should focus on cultivating and improving students' comprehensive quality and the core quality of chemistry.Hierarchical,diverse,and alternative chemistry courses should be designed to meet students' needs.The description of course objectives has gradually reflected the importance of subject integration,which coincides with the STEM concept.It can be seen that the integration of STEM concept in high school chemistry teaching is an important way to cultivate students' comprehensive quality and the core quality of chemistry.In order to better use textbooks,STEM education to the actual teaching efficiency of teachers and students and cultivate and promote the development of students' core literacy,the author on the basis of 2007 and 2019 editions of STEM content and STEM concept for the use of textbooks and the development of teachers and students.In order to facilitate the writing of the subsequent paper,the author called the 2019 version of the chemistry textbook as the new textbook,and called the 2007 edition of the chemistry textbook as the old textbook.This study takes construction theory and multiple intelligence theory,literature method and interview method as the main research method,and defines the two concepts of STEM education and chemistry textbook.Both the new textbooks and the old textbooks are based on cultivating students' quality,and STEM education can be used as an effective way for middle school teachers to implement the development of students' core literacy,but the new textbooks are more conducive to cultivating students' core literacy in chemistry.Teachers should constantly improve the shortcomings of the old textbooks in the implementation of STEM content and implement the better development of students' core literacy.This paper mainly uses the ST?@M pyramid classification standard of Yakman G.to classify and present STEM knowledge in the old and new textbooks and from the breadth of knowledge,knowledge integration and content of STEM content characteristics and core literacy,summarizes the above three aspects of the old and new textbooks.Interview with teachers and students for the understanding of STEM content and expectation of STEM course,the role of STEM knowledge in high school chemistry textbooks,the problems of STEM content in old textbooks,some opinions on STEM content in textbooks,and the effective way to cultivate students' core literacy by STEM knowledge.The research results show that both the 2007 edition and the 2019 edition of the senior high school subject book are based on cultivating students' comprehensive quality,but the 2019 edition of the textbook is more conducive to cultivating students' core literacy in chemistry.As an effective way for middle school teachers to implement students' core literacy,teachers should constantly improve the shortcomings in the implementation of STEM content in the 2007 edition textbook in order to better cultivate students' core literacy.In addition,the author reflects on the shortcomings of this research,and provides suggestions for the use of new textbooks,hoping to provide help to the research of scholars and the work of front-line teachers.
