The new round of curriculum reform is based on the nature of the discipline,and the core qualities of chemistry have been condensed from the perspective of nurturing people in chemistry.At the same time,it puts forward higher requirements for the teaching of the subject,and the focus of teaching has shifted from "enabling students to acquire subject knowledge" to "developing students' subject understanding".In terms of theoretical research,this thesis combs the current research status of subject comprehension in teachers and students,analyzes the concept of students' subject comprehension,discusses the dimensions of students' chemistry subject comprehension,and tries to construct specific evaluation criteria for students' five dimensions of chemistry subject knowledge,values,thinking,idea and methods.In terms of the empirical study,a questionnaire survey was conducted by developing a survey scale about high school students' subject comprehension and taking students of Liupanshui No.3 Middle School as the respondents.The results of the data analysis showed that the overall subject comprehension of high school students was less satisfactory,especially in the level of thinking,idea and methods of chemistry,which is the part that teachers need to strengthen in their teaching.Moreover,there are significant differences in subject understanding among different gender and class type student groups.Taking the topic of redox reactions as an example,by measuring students' subject understanding,the thesis shows that students have subject understanding difficulties in the nature of redox reactions,writing unfamiliar redox equations,and writing electrode reaction equations.Accordingly,this study proposes corresponding teaching strategies: using specific contextual materials as a thread to link core knowledge and highlight the value of the subject;using the core concepts of the module as a focus point to identify subject topics and develop subject concepts;and using problem solving as a guide to develop thinking level and master subject methods and other teaching strategies.At the same time,a redox reaction topic lesson example is designed,and the strategies proved to be beneficial in improving students' understanding of the subject.
