| As one of the social media with a large number of users at the moment,We Chat’s every setting button is closely related to the user’s habits of social networking.In recent years,there have been many incidents caused by the information leakage of We Chat Moments.In We Chat Moments,the social space,how to deal with the contradiction between information disclosure and privacy protection has become an unavoidable problem for users and the platform.Since2017,We Chat has added the setting of Moments’ viewable time range,and then updated “Last three days”,“Last one month” options etc for users’ personal privacy boundary setting successively.This setting of We Chat platform brought a chain reaction of users,and over 100 million users set their Moments viewable for the last three days.This research is based on the theory of communication privacy management,taking the phenomenon of the three-day viewable setting of college students’ We Chat Moments as the problem for study.Through questionnaires and interviews,it classifies and summarizes the privacy protection set by users,and analyzes the phenomena of We Chat Moments viewable for the last 3 days from two levels.It finds out that the privacy management of the three-day viewable setting is a proactive hard border management,and building a "private space" for users.Compared with users who set Moments all viewable,the former is more inclined to disclose more sensitive information in Moments;on the other hand,through the investigation of the behavioral motivation and social effects of the three-day viewable setting,it turns out the three-day viewable setting is essentially a remedy privacy border management,it can enhance the user’s feeling of control over the time and scope of the personal social space,thereby realize the protection of personal information. |
