Currently,broadcasting companies are expanding their business and enriching their services,making the network scale gradually huge and the network condition more complex,thus the network maintenance work become more and more difficult.In order to solve the current network maintenance dilemma,it is necessary to realize intelligent active operation and maintenance,to investigate and repair faults before they affect signal transmission,and to improve the user experience of HFC(Hybrid Fiber Coaxial)network,this paper designed an intelligent fault location system based on HFC network.This paper had analyzed the current status of HFC network operation and maintenance development and the problems faced by the broadcasting company,the system started from the concept of active operation and maintenance,was developed on the WEB side based on the MVC framework and My SQL database with JAVA and Java Server Pages;the data was collected through SNMP protocol to realized the monitoring of the operation status of equipment in the network and its indicators;the Cable Modem placed in the user’s home was used as a probe of the faults in the network,and the system operation and maintenance indexes and fault reflection point spacing were calculated by the pre-equalization’s coefficient and combined with the network topology to located the line fault initially;the similarity analysis of the user’s address and in-band frequency response curve of the faulty Cable Modem was performed by the weighted cosine similarity and the longest common subsequence algorithm to distinguish Cable Modem was subject to a common fault or a single fault;combined with the Cable Modem’s transmit level and receive level to determined whether there was a connector fault in the network line,greatly reduced the scope of network fault finding;enabled the system to actively troubleshoot cable faults in the network and narrowed the scope of network fault finding.Finally,the functions of the system were tested and the effectiveness of the system was verified on site.The results were in line with the system design,which could significantly improve the efficiency of the company’s network operation and maintenance,and improve the accuracy of cable fault repair.
