With the popularization of the mobile Internet and smart terminals,users have a deeper perception of the mobile terminal experience and strict requirements.More and more products are trying to improve their product experience through various methods.Motion design is in the important role in this process has become increasingly prominent.The flattening of information presentation on the mobile terminal has brought about the problem of weak spatial perception.Users cannot use the original spatial thinking mode to understand and perceive the spatial hierarchical relationship between two-dimensional interface elements.As an important connector between interface levels and page interface elements,motion design brings the concept of spatial metaphor into the expression of motion design,can realize the migration and expansion of user space cognitive experience,and effectively reduce the user’s cognitive cost.This paper combines the cognitive theory of spatial metaphor with motion design.Through the combing of related research theories and the disassembly and analysis of existing motion effect cases,the concept and classification of spatial metaphors in motion design are explained,and spatial metaphors are summarized.The role and significance of expanding the screen content space,guiding user interaction and realizing the matching of cognitive experience.On the basis of the analysis of spatial metaphor cognition,a mobile terminal motion design method and process based on spatial metaphor is proposed,including motion design demand analysis,spatial metaphor prototype selection,spatial metaphor feature extraction,and motion design expression and dynamic design evaluation other five steps.The motion design method of spatial metaphor is used in the practice of "Xiangyue" APP motion design.First,sort out multiple dynamic demand scenarios such as transition,level switching,operation response,and space expansion according to the information architecture and functional requirements of the application.Then,according to the specific usage scenarios of the dynamic effects,the divergent thinking of the spatial metaphor prototype was carried out,and multiple basic prototype structures such as the cube prototype,the card package prototype,the origami prototype,and the camera prototype were selected and obtained.Then,on the basis of the metaphor prototype,the metaphorical features such as the trigger action,initial form and movement form of the animation are refined,and the extracted metaphor features are designed and expressed,and the card folding animation,the bookshelf and the book list transition are produced.There are multiple examples of Z-axis dynamic effects,such as dynamic effects,menu collapsed and expanded dynamic effects,book review page and detail page level switching dynamic effects.Finally,combining the quantitative model of dynamic effect evaluation and the method of user subjective evaluation and scoring,a comprehensive evaluation of the dynamic effect design scheme of "Xiangyue" APP was obtained.
