As a rhetorical device,metaphor first appeared in the field of linguistics.In recent years,it has been gradually introduced into the field of human-machine interface design by designers.As a design method,interface metaphor can provide relevant inspiration based on user experience background and assist users to complete interface cognitive behavior.At present,the research on the metaphorical nature of digital graphical interfaces is still at the stage of preliminary visual and aesthetic design research.Vision is the main channel for user interface information recognition.The decoding of its cognitive mechanism is also at the beginning of domestic and foreign academic circles,and no norms have been formed.Guidance for the design of a consistent and unified interface.This article takes the metaphorical nature of digital graphical interfaces as the research object,comprehensively uses the theory of design science,cognitive psychology,ergonomics and other disciplines to carry out relevant theoretical and experimental research on the metaphorical nature of digital graphical interfaces,and applies the results to specific In the design project practice,it has applicability to the actual interface design.The main research contents and contributions of this article are as follows:1.It systematically summarizes the types of interface metaphors,that is,concepts,features,structures,and behavioral metaphor theories,and analyzes the principles that interface metaphors follow in the design process,the construction methods of metaphor graphics,and the design and application of metaphors in digital interfaces.2.Based on the user’s visual cognitive behavior,the user’s cognitive mechanism of graphical metaphor is studied.The metaphor of digital interface is analyzed from three levels:mapping cognition,similar cognition,and experience basis."The cognitive advantages,cognitive limitations and existing test methods of interface metaphors are analyzed.3.Taking the icon as an example,a behavior experiment on the metaphorical cognition of the interface was carried out.Respectively,(1)Cognitive differences between metaphoric icons and non-metaphoric icons(2)Cognitive differences between complete structural metaphoric icons and characteristic metaphoric icons(3)Memory differences between complete structural metaphoric icons and characteristic metaphoric icons.Experimental results show that users’ cognitive response to metaphoric icons is shorter than non-metaphoric icons,and their cognitive load is lower;complete structural metaphorical graphical icons have shorter cognitive response time than characteristic structural metaphorical graphical icons,and their cognitive load is more Low;through memory experiments,it is further verified that the complete structure metaphor graphics is superior to the characteristic structure metaphor graphics.4.Based on the above research on the basic theoretical knowledge of interface metaphor and the visual cognitive behavior experiment of graphical metaphor,the design practice of digital interface based on the metaphor of digital graphics is carried out.Combined with social hotspots,an online education app "Lexue"was designed,and the metaphorical design of various elements in the interface was analyzed.In this paper,through the combination of theory,experiment and practice,this paper analyzes the cognitive mechanism and working principle of digital graphical interface metaphors,sums up the targeted design methods,in order to guide designers to use metaphor design techniques to design excellent numbers graphic interface.
