The rapid development of the Internet of things(IOT),5G network and other new technologies,or cloud computing,big data and other new network application concepts are gradually popular,all of which are inseparable from the contribution of software to information technology.Software industry is the foundation of information technology industry and the power source of a new round of scientific and technological innovation and reform.Software is not only the soul of information technology,but also the "booster" of national economic development.In the past five years,both software business income and total profit have been on the rise,and the growth rate has shown a steady and positive development trend,It has promoted the growth of digital economy and also provides economic and social development with strong scientific and technological support.However,the innovation ability of my country’s software industry still requires improvement.To chase the rapid development pace of other developed countries(e.g.the United States and European nations),increasing the innovation capacity of the software industrial cluster could be a turning point for China.Therefore,it is important for software industry clusters to integrated innovation and develop.As an important carrier of innovation,the potential innovation advantage of industrial cluster is hard to be possessed by a single enterprise.The potential innovation advantage of industrial clusters is not only affected by the proximity of natural geography,but also the cognitive proximity and institutional proximity will affect it.Referring to the theoretical research of previous scholars,scholars mainly study the static effect of multi-dimensional proximity on industrial cluster innovation from the perspectives of geographical proximity and cognitive proximity,while few scholars study the dynamic effect of proximity on cluster innovation.In reality,the evolution stage of industrial cluster is different,and various neighborhood dynamics act on cluster innovation.Therefore,study the influence of institutional proximity,geographical proximity,and cognitive proximity on innovation in different stages of industrial clusters has strong theoretical value and practical significance.From the multi-dimensional proximity perspective,this paper takes "the influence of multi-dimensional proximity on cluster innovation in different stages of the evolution of China’s software industry cluster" as the core issue to study.The industrial cluster effect of Chinese Torch software industry base is obvious,which is in line with the research needs of this paper.Therefore,the research sample of this paper is the data of torch software industry bases in 33 countries from 2007 to 2017.First of all,based on literature review and with the help of MATLAB_R2018a software,this paper USES the fitting curve method and dynamic clustering method to distinguish the evolution stage of China’s software industrial cluster,and concludes that China’s software industrial cluster is the formation stage before 2011,the growth stage from 2011 to 2014,and the maturity stage from 2015 to now.Secondly,based on the stage characteristics of China’s software industry cluster,this paper expounds the influence mechanism of multi-dimensional proximity on innovation in the evolution stage of software industry cluster and conducts an empirical analysis to discuss the influence effect of geographical proximity,cognitive proximity and institutional proximity on innovation in different stages of evolution of China’s software industry cluster.Among them,the explained variables are cluster innovation performance,the geographical proximity,institutional proximity and cognitive proximity are explanatory variables,and the control variables are cluster scale,per capita GDP and Research and Development investment..In this paper,qualitative and quantitative fixed-effect models with dummy variables are constructed for empirical analysis,and then robustness tests are carried out by replacing geographical proximity indicators and sampling tests are conducted according to regional classification to improve the reliability of the conclusions.According to the analysis,this paper reaches the following empirical results:(1)Geographical proximity has a positive effect on cluster innovation when industrial clusters are in the formation and growth stages.While in the mature stage,the cluster innovation will be inhibited by geographical proximity.(2)Cognitive proximity has a positive effect on cluster innovation when industrial clusters are in the formation and growth stages.However,the cluster innovation will be inhibited by cognitive proximity in the mature stage.(3)In the process of industrial cluster evolution,there is a positive effect of institutional proximity on cluster innovation.Therefore,it can be concluded that in different stages of industrial cluster evolution,geographical proximity,cognitive proximity and institutional proximity have different impacts on China’s innovation performance of the industrial clusters.Thus,different policies should be formulated according to different industrial stages to facilitate the innovative development of industrial cluster.Finally,by combining the current situation and empirical analysis to proceed with the conclusion summary,this paper gives suggestions from the perspectives of government and cluster subjects that put forward a feasible policy to improve the innovation performance of the software industry cluster under the multi-dimensional proximity.At the national level,dynamic strategies for multidimensional proximity are needed;At the main level of cluster,systematic innovative development strategy should be explored.By optimizing the multi-dimensional adjacent structure of industrial clusters,the software industrial clusters can be innovatively developed and China’s economic development can be boosted.Research of this paper,from multidimensional proximity perspective,clarify the software industrial cluster evolution in different stage in our country,geographic adjacent,cognitive nearby,system innovation effect of adjacent to cluster evolution stage,enrich and expand the multidimensional adjacent application in the field of software industry,help the government main body USES the pertinence,effectiveness and cluster policy Suggestions to help China’s software industry cluster innovation to upgrade.
