Single joystick control is the development direction of advanced turboprop engine control system.This paper takes a real variable-pitch micro turboprop engine as the object to study control system,involving modeling of a micro turboprop engine,design of single joystick control system,hardware-in-the-loop simulation and bench test.(1)Modeling of micro turboprop engine.Based on the open-loop test data,this paper uses the second-order ARX model to establish a dynamic model of the core engine speed.The rotor dynamics method is used to establish a dynamic model of the propeller speed.Finally,a numerical simulation model of micro turboprop engine above idle state is established,which takes fuel quantity and pitch angle as input,core engine speed and propeller speed as output.Taking this model as the research object,a constant-speed closed-loop control algorithm is established and verified by simulation.(2)Design of single joystick control system.By analyzing working characteristics of the micro turboprop engine,the structure of single joystick control system is designed.The control plan of single joystick control system is designed.The core engine speed and propeller speed are planned so that the single power lever can linearly corresponds to engine output power.The control algorithm of single joystick control system is designed.A sliding mode control algorithm with reference model is established.Design the algorithm parameters so that it can automatically adjust fuel supply and pitch angle,and track the core engine speed and propeller speed instructions.The single joystick control system is verified by numerical simulation.(3)Hardware-in-the-loop simulation test.Based on characteristics of sensors and actuators on the engine bench,the hardware and software of the interface simulator are designed.According to the requirements of engine monitoring,the monitoring software is designed.The software has the complete monitoring authority for the engine and can smoothly switch between different control laws.The hardware-in-the-loop simulation of the sliding mode control algorithm is performed to simulate and optimize the control effect on a real bench.(4)Bench test verification.A bench test of micro turboprop engine was conducted to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the single joystick control system.Bench tests show that the single joystick control system designed in this paaper can effectively control the real engine with two degree of freedom and simplify engine operation;the sliding mode control algorithm can effectively perform multi-variable control;the power planning system can realize the linear correspondence between power lever angle and engine power,and the output power deviation is less than 3%;compared with the traditional constant speed control plan,the average fuel consumption of the single joystick steady-state control plan under the same power can be reduced by 5.7%.
