On The Press Conference Of The Joint Prevention And Control Mechanism Of The State Council From The Perspective Of Social Amplification Of Risks

The COVID-19 epidemic is a major public health emergency with the fastest transmission speed,the widest infection range and the greatest difficulty in prevention and control since the founding of the People’s Republic of China.It is also a global risk event.The press conference of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council is the highest news release platform of the national platform,which plays an important role in releasing epidemic information,responding to public opinions and carrying out risk communication.This paper takes the risk amplification theory as the perspective to study the press conference of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council,and studies how the press conference communicates with the public under the risk of epidemic disease.First of all,from a historical perspective,this paper summarizes the long-term predicament of China’s press conference system,and makes a comprehensive analysis of the press conference mechanism of the State and Yuan joint prevention and control under the background that can cause risk amplification.This study mainly adopts the content analysis method to try to make a quantitative analysis of the topics,the identity of spokesmen and the tendency of answering questions of the press conference of the joint defense and control mechanism of the State Council.The study found that in the press conferences of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council,the most prominent topics in the epidemic prevention and control work of various departments and units have been introduced.In addition,the staff of various departments and units occupy the absolute dominant power of discourse at all stages,and they are the main information publishers and public opinion responses.The role of the medical professionals involved in the press conference is primarily that of emotional consolers and secondary that of science popularisers.This paper also takes the official accounts of People’s Daily We Chat and Southern Metropolis Dail We Chat B1 as the research objects to discuss the tendency of media of different positions to reprint the information of press conferences.The research shows that People’s Daily releases less information about the joint defense and joint control news of the State Council,and it also chooses to dilute the official color.However,Southern Metropolis Daily reported the press conference of the joint defense and control mechanism of the State Council more frequently than People’s Daily,paid more attention to the source of information,and often chose to highlight it in the title to enhance the authority of the information.In addition,the paper also found that the press conferences of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council had different emphases in different stages of the development of the epidemic.For example,in the early stage,the press conferences paid more attention to the warning and risk definition,while in the late stage,they focused more on the humanized transmission of the epidemic prevention and control stories.Finally,from the perspective of strengthening social trust,this paper emphasizes that the government should establish a trust system of risk communication,reemphasize media "specialization" and attach importance to public participation in risk communication,so as to better enhance public communication and avoid social amplification of risks.
