With the rapid development of mobile communication technology,the architecture of the radio access network(RAN)has also undergone tremendous changes compared with the past,and it has continued to evolve and develop towards the goal of larger network capacity and lower system energy consumption.Open RAN(O-RAN)has received extensive attention from the industry because of its open and intelligent characteristics,and it has also become one of the development directions of future radio access networks.In order to solve the problem of excessive energy consumption caused by the use of general-purpose chips in the O-RAN network architecture and the intensive deployment of Fifth Generation Mobile Communication System(5G)base stations,the industry has carried out research on base station energy-saving technologies.Based on the QEE(Qo E-aware Energy Efficiency)index,this paper has launched a research on the base station sleep strategy under the O-RAN network architecture.The main work includes the following aspects:1.In view of the QEE optimization problem of mixed services in homogeneous O-RAN network,a sleep strategy DIL-BPSO(Dynamic Inertia weight coefficient and Learning factor-BPSO)is proposed.The sleep strategy starts from factors such as the connection relationship between the O-RAN Radio Unit(O-RU)and the user,the distance between the O-RU and the user,etc.,and obtains the optimal O-RU sleep combination and the largest system QEE in the continuous iteration process.After simulation verification and analysis,it can be found that compared with other sleep strategies,the complexity of this sleep strategy is lower than other strategies,and the performance degradation is negligible.2.In view of the QEE optimization problem of mixed services in heterogeneous O-RAN networks,a sleep strategy BKMS(Bisecting K-Means clustering based Sleep)is proposed.The sleep strategy first clusters users,matches O-RU with the cluster center point according to the distance,and then allocates O-RUs to users to achieve the purpose of making full use of working O-RUs.The simulation results show that compared with other sleep strategies,the performance of this sleep strategy is better than other sleep strategies.
