With the rapid development of computer and Internet technology, the dissemination of multimedia digital products on the Internet has become more and more convenient. However, piracy, tampering and other phenomena occur from time to time, which seriously affects the core interests of copyright owners. To solve these problems, information hiding technology came into being.Reversible data hiding(RDH)is an important part of information hiding. It can not only embed secret data into the cover signal, but also completely extract the embedded secret data and ensure the lossless recovery of the cover signal. This is very useful in special application fields such as medical images, military images, and remote sensing images, and is currently receiving extensive attention from academia and industry. This paper focuses on the research of RDH method based on interpolation technology(IT).Firstly, the RDH method based on difference extension, the RDH method based on histogram shifting, the RDH method based on IT technology and the commonly used performance indicators of RDH technology are introduced. Then, the RDH methods for interpolated images based on weighted matrix and multi-layer folding strategy are proposed,respectively.1.A dual-image RDH method based on weighted matrixAlthough the weighted matrix-based RDH method has high embedding capacity, the quality of watermarked image is not very good.Aiming at this problem,an improved dual-image RDH method based on weighted matrix is proposed.Different from the previous methods that only consider the use of weighted matrix for secret data embedding, this method introduces a center-folding coding strategy on the basis of weighted matrix, which effectively improves the embedding capacity and the quality of watermarked image. When embedding secret data, the space is first vacated, then the center-folding strategy is used to re-encode the data, and finally it is embedded into the interpolated pixels. The experimental results show that the proposed method is superior to the existing methods in both the quality of watermarked image and embedding capacity.2.A dual-image RDH method based on weighted matrix using neighborhood interpolationAfter analyzing the existing RDH methods based on weighted matrix,it is found that these methods adopt the method of non-overlapping blocks, and there are problems such as repetition of reference pixels and secret data not embedded in some pixels in the cover image.Based on this,a weighted matrix-based neighborhood interpolation dual-image RDH method is proposed. The proposed method adopts the neighborhood interpolation method and the shared partial embedding block strategy, which effectively reduces the number of reference pixels. The experimental results show that the embedding capacity of the proposed method is improved compared with similar methods.3.A RDH method based on multi-layer folding shifting for interpolated imageTo further improve the performance of IT-based RDH methods,a multi-layer folding shifting RDH method based on interpolated image is proposed.Aiming at the optional feature of multi-layer folding coding, the proposed method adopts the shiftable secret data coding selection strategy with the least distortion to minimize the distortion of the center pixel. The experimental results show that the proposed method has larger embedding capacity and higher watermarked image quality than existing methods.
